Metal Fabricator Updates Entire Facility with the Help of Busy Beaver Inc.
We worked for a metal fabricating company back in 2012 to repair and install an epoxy coating in their aisles. Many changes have occurred over the past 11 years, so they contacted us again to repair and recoat their entire facility.
The project took place over six weekends, allowing the floor to be ready for traffic on Monday morning. We started the project by addressing their resurfacing needs. Many areas throughout their warehouse were down to large aggregate.
The truck drive-through aisle was eroded from trucks pulling through the building. The trucks left salt residue on the surface, which caused damage to the concrete.
We recommended doing a trowel down in all the eroded areas. We prepped the floor with a scarifier and resurfaced the concrete using trowel-grade sand mixed with epoxy. The resurfaced areas were coated with 100% solids top coat and a non-skid.

Part 2: Well-Defined Aisles
As a refresher, we worked for a metal fabricating company in 2012 to repair and install an epoxy coating in their aisles. Many changes have occurred over the past 11 years, so they wanted to redo their entire facility.
We worked on repairs throughout their facility the first couple of weekends to get the floor serviceable.
Now, it was time to coat their aisles. We recoated all the aisles we did in 2012 with a grey epoxy. Due to expansion, we taped eight additional aisles and installed a grey epoxy with a non-skid surface for employee safety.

Part 3: Customized Line Striping
As a refresher, we worked for a metal fabricating company in 2012 to repair and install an epoxy coating in their aisles. Many changes have occurred over the past 11 years, so they wanted to redo their entire facility.
The first couple of weekends, we worked on repairs throughout their facility. The middle weekends included recoating their aisles in grey epoxy and establishing eight more aisles in grey epoxy with a non-skid surface for employee safety.
Lastly, This customer had specific needs for their line striping. Since not every aisle would lead you to a fire exit, we suggested painting one of the lines in the aisles red to indicate a path to an exit in case of an emergency. Next, we stenciled forklift warning signs in the walk aisles where forklifts crossed. Lastly, we painted a zig-zag pattern in their truck aisles to warn that forklifts and trucks used this aisle.
Their facility is now visually appealing for customer tours and has well-defined aisles with safe traffic patterns for employees to travel throughout the warehouse. Are you considering renovating your facility? We can help establish the ideal layout and schedule tailored to your production requirements!
